Hi!
- In MediaWiki it's not necessary to have CapitalizedTitles.
I removed the "Maintainer: Franz Nahrada" part at Vienna_conference_proposals since it might stop others from plunging forward :) I also took the freedom to remove some "I"s and "me"s. Akagu 22:44, 28 Jan 2004 (GMT)
Hi Akagu,
it is very interesting to learn about various wiki cultures. not talking about camelcase, but there seems to be an intrinsic connection between the scarce use of capital letters and the idea to put maintainership out of visibility.
I could imagine that this could be a most interesting topic for your contribution at the Oekonux conference. Maintainership and responsibility in the wiki world, the culture of editing. FranzNahrada 07:43, 29 Jan 2004 (GMT)
The possibility to use lower case titles makes it possible to write more normal text, i.e. text without weird capitals. According to my Wikipedish POV wikis should be a place where every reasonable person that fits in the specific wiki should be able to take the maintainer role if she wants. The use of less common use terms (i.e. NoSpacesWithWeirdCapitalization) and the mentioning of a maintainer both could diminish the threshold for other people to plunge in and change or add something.
Of course the person should at least feel at home in the topic of the article and the setting of the wiki. It's one of the things I want to discuss. :) Akagu 09:43, 29 Jan 2004 (GMT)
